David Atkins

David grew up in upstate South Carolina, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. He began riding motorcycles when he was ten years old.
In the 70's David began competing in local motorcross racing and was hooked on the thrill of competition. In the 80's he was competing in enduro races. By the 90's he had moved to sunny Florida and began dominating local and national motorcycle rodeos and field events.
In 2000 he met Willie Herschberger and was introduced to drag racing. He competed locally as a rookie and ended the season with an 11th overall position at Bradenton Motorsports Park. In 2002 he was approached to become a member of Drag Masters Race Club, and things got real interesting.
During this time, he formed the Red Zone Racing Team and finished the season #6, locally, as well as competed in AHDRA events around the country. He placed the runner up position, twice, at the SnowBird Nationals.
2003 will find David racing locally and nationally, (with the AHDRA on a Beull S3), and he will be competing in the new AHDRA Class, "Hot Street", sponsored by Drag Masters Inc..
